Final images and concept

Childhood – the most beautiful time in every person’s life when we live in a miraculous world of fantasy… Surrounded by toys in our heads we create imaginary realities where toys are alive and live have their own little world full of happiness and adventures. But what happens to those fantasies when we grow up and leave the toys behind? Our fantasies DIE. By growing up people destroy the wonderful imaginary toy worlds they created.
By creating two contrasting panoramas and mini worlds I want to draw people’s attention to this topic and remind them of the toy worlds of their childhood. When I was a child I used to love playing with little figures of smurfs, which is why I chose them as symbol of my childhood toy planet. The first mini world represents the childhood. I used exaggerated bright a colors, all smurfs are facing the viewer. They are all standing next to each other around the planet, surrounding beautiful emerald lawn. The second mini world represents the adult life full of worries and “things we have to do”. This mini world is dull, grey and depressing. The lawn in the middle is replaced by dark burnt empty spot. The smurfs are lying around helter-skelter, they are dirty. Some smurfs are gone buried in dirt as we are buried in worries. The gaps between them are much bigger as they are bigger between people when they become adults. Children are not separated by race and language, religious or political views. They love playing with each other and can find the way of communications with anyone of their age.
By project I want to inspire people bring their toy worlds back to life - may be only in their heads by remembering the wonderful plastic or stuffed little friends that they used to have. They might be lying around somewhere in mom’s garage or on the attic among rummage impossible to find or even gone for good, but they should always live in our memory.
